Why do you sell more cars with good quality photos?
It’s quite simple: your VDPs will be viewed more often when you have good photos. Consumers are attracted by beautiful images, even when it’s small on the VSR (Vehicle Search Results) on Autotrader or Cars.com. That first captivating image is a prelude to more high quality images of the stock on your lot or forecourt. Consumers can tell from your images whether these are made with care and attention. On top of that, the quality of your images tells a lot about the quality of your cars, your business and the people who are working for you.
Good quality photos will get you better revenue!
A car is still the second most expensive product a consumer will buy in his life. It doesn’t matter if it’s a new or a used car, it always an investment in thousands of Dollars or Pounds. To a customer this is a huge amount of money and he or she will spend many hours looking for the right car. Car buying is an emotional process and senses are stimulated by images. So it’s a bit strange dealerships have no idea on how to photograph a car properly
Often it’s a corner in the showroom which serves as ‘studio’ and sometimes a turntable is installed so pictures can be taken quickly with an neutral background. Not a bad way to start. But car salesmen are not professional photographers. It is a proper profession. You have to take many things into account, like reflections, light, photo equipment and camera settings. (This is something you don’t learn when you are training to be a car salesman.) You want the customer to visit your dealership and good quality photos are the best bait you can have. An image tells more than a 1000 words.
